The Gift of the Magi

One fine summer morning, Hinata saw a team playing volleyball in the gymnasium. He was overwhelmed to watch the match on the TV, he ran to the gymnasium to watch it, but he was not let inside the gymnasium. All he could ever do was to dream of him playing in the very same stadium and winning a tournament. He trained really hard for the tournament without a team, he would take any chance to become worthy of being on the court. He trained with the girl's volleyball team whenever he could. He would just not stop at it. One day seeing Hinata play, Kageyama the team setter from a very renowned team, decided to take his efforts into consideration. This meant that if Hinata was to be accepted into the team, then Kageyama was never to play for at least two tournaments. This was heartbreaking for Kageyama but he accepted this anyway. The two trained really hard, they had early morning practices which would end only by 8 in the evening.
The day of the selections neared by, Hinata and Kageyama was more than ready for their big game. Hinata was a great quick attacker and Kageyama was a great setter. The two made a deadly combination, they were unstoppable. Kageyama and Hinata, both made a great team and Hinata was selected for the team. Hinata was gifted to be a part of the team, but it was a difficult decision for the captain to bench Kageyama for the next two tournaments; Kageyama would finish his high school and would never be able to play again and the captain did not want to lose this lethal combination of Hinata and Kageyama. So, the captain decided to keep Kageyama and Hinata both in play, by this both the players were rewarded. But, the thing to be noted was Kageyama's willingness to be benched just to bring in a new and good player into the team. This gift was much better than the gift of the magi.
